Movement along the demand curve and Shift in demand curveWe have simply studied that quantity increases or decreases with the decrease or increase of its price respectively. That was a condition by which we prepared the demand curve. And this flow is normally known as movement along the demand curve. This change in demand due to the change in price of the commodity is said to be movement along the demand curve.If the price of the commodity remains constant, but due to change in some other determinant, the quantity demanded changes, then it is known as shift in demand curve. |
